Winter Harvest 24

29-30 December 2024, Budapest

“People who have faith in life are like swimmers who entrust themselves to a rushing river. They neither abandon themselves to its current nor try to resist it. Rather, they adjust their every movement to the watercourse, use it with purpose and skill, and enjoy the adventure.

David Steindl-Rast

We’re calling you to harvest. We collect all the many good things we can be just grateful for. Through movement, dance, and words, we make visible everything that lives in us that defines us on the surface or in our depths. It always vitalize me when I can dive into the dance. It brings alive all the parts of my soul that I don’t listen to at other times. My playful parts, my creative parts, my freedom-seeking parts, my deep-feeling parts.

Dance gives me space. As we stretch, we physically scan the space around us and find that there is free space we can stretch into. And at the same time, we also create free spaces within our bodies, tasting the liberating feeling of stretching. The dance is a stretching of the soul: we explore, we discover the space where our attention, our desires, our dreams can reach out, and in doing so we create more space within ourselves for our desires, our inspiration to be born.

On this workshop we’ll follow the map of Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms. Movement allows us to connect to things beyond our everyday thoughts. We can connect to the wise intuition of our subconsciousness and with the flowing current of our humanness.

This kind of movement doesn’t require special training. Everyone who joins will be able to follow the simple instructions and bring their bodies into motion. And anybody who brings their body into motion in a free improvisation will bring their psyche into motion as well, and will be able to connect to their inner source of power and vitality. This process is basically the waking up of our life force.

“I believe that we all have the capacity to become fully embodied souls, and fully inspirited bodies. Body and soul are in union within us and dance is a powerful tool to bring these aspects of our existence closer together. The only thing we need to do is to move and be open to whatever is unfolding through the movement.”

Éva Lőrincz
pszichodrama instructor and life coach, co-leader of the workshop

“I have been working as a psychodrama facilitator and coach for more than a decade. I graduated from ELTE Faculty of Humanities in Hungarian, Aesthetics and Communication, and worked for several years in different positions: as a journalist, communication manager, content developer and software development project manager. After a while, I felt that although I was doing exciting and creative things, somehow I was always missing the point. I longed to be more in touch with human things, with everything that goes on in human life.”
